SPECIALE “LE DONNE NEL FUMETTO”
– VENTIQUATTRESIMA PUNTATA PARTE PRIMA –
Oggi, in occasione della Giornata Internazionale della Donna, siamo a metà dello Speciale ed anche se con qualche ritardo continuo a proporre dei grandi artisti nazionali ed internazionali che ci raccontano la creazione di alcune loro pagine a fumetti, dallo script alla pagina finale da stampare “.
Gli artisti di oggi sono (per la seconda volta): Mary&Bryan Talbot, insieme a Kate Charlesworth, con un fumetto straordinario che mi piacerebbe molto leggere in edizione italiana: Sally Heatcote Suffragette.
Il loro workshop sarà seguito domani da una recensione, altrettanto bella, di Cesare Giombetti, collaboratore prezioso e socio sostenitore dell’ass. culturale Fumettomania.
Ricordo a chi legge questo articolo che questo Speciale dedicato a “LE DONNE NEL FUMETTO“, è cominciato esattamente un anno fa sulle ceneri di quello che avrebbe dovuto essere il n.ro 21/22 del web magazine Fumettomania.

TEXTBOX: We thought we were brave going to a big local suffrage rally that summer. It was a throng that day. A hundred thousand strong, it was, and thankfully peaceful too.
2. Sally and Kitty admire a NUWSS Banner. An NUWSS caravan is close by. Sally has a badge on her blouse.
KITTY: I like their colours better. Red, white and green. That’s lovely, that is.
3. Kitty points to a Huddersfield NUWSS Banner. Sally is laughing.
KITTY: Look, Huddersfield! But it shouldn’t be black and yellow, should it?
SALLY: The colours! Is that all tha thinks about, Kit?
4. KITTY: Well, they’re lovely!
SALLY: Aye, they are that.

2. A car approaches (it’s the same as the one at the station the day before)
POLICEMAN: Stand back! Stand back!
3. Con steps out in front of the car, shouting.
CON: You say you back the women’s cause!
4. Still shouting, Con steps aside as the car nears.
CON: How can you stay on in a Government which refuses them the vote?
