In occasione della ricorrenza del primo film dedicato a James Bond, L’Agente 007 (5 ottobre 1962), ieri abbiamo ricevuto la newsletter dalla Ian Fleming Pubblication e la condividiamo pubblicandola anche in Italiano (oltre che nella versione originaria in inglese) .
Vi ricordiamo che in occasione della ricorrenza dei 70 anni dalla pubblicazione del primo romanzo di Ian Fleming dedicato a James Bond, all’Agente 007 (‘Casino Royale‘), la nostra associazione ha lanciato il progetto culturale no-profit “Licence to kill – 70 years of 007”!
Licence to kill sarà uno Special Tribute che inizierà ufficialmente su questo sito il 17 ottobre 2023 , e presenteremo omaggi disegnati ed articoli dedicati a James Bond, Ian Fleming, all’Agent 007, ai romanzi e ai film di James Bond.
Stanno arrivando i primi disegni, Chi saranno gli amici disegnatori partecipanti?
Il primo artista che ha già partecipato è il mitico David (V for Vendetta) Lloyd.

L’Associazione FUMETTOMANIA FACTORY – APS, che opera dal 1991 a livello nazionale – senza mai dimenticare le attività svolte nel territorio della propria sede operativa a Barcellona P.G., – ha come finalità la promozione, la divulgazione e la valorizzazione delle tematiche correlate al linguaggio del fumetto.
La “mission” di Fumettomania, è quella di attrarre ragazzi di tutte le età promuovendo progetti a loro dedicati, che parlino di argomenti attuali e coinvolgenti, utilizzando il fumetto, che si profila come forma d’arte autonoma che contiene in sé il codice linguistico della letteratura (le parole), le sue modalità di fruizione, ma anche la sequenzialità del cinema e l’attenzione figurativa delle arti visive tradizionali.
L’impegno dell’Associazione – a 32 anni dalla fondazione – è quello di diffondere la cultura del Fumetto e, fra i nostri obiettivi, c’è la volontà di continuare i progetti culturali e sociali sul territorio con laboratori rivolti a giovani appassionati e alle scuole, mostre personali e collettive dedicate al fumetto, all’illustrazione e affini, presentazioni di fumetti ed incontri con gli autori

Il 5 ottobre è affettuosamente conosciuto come “James Bond Day“, poiché segna la data in cui il primo film di 007: Dr. No, è stato presentato in anteprima nel 1962.
Il 5 ottobre è anche la data di nascita del defunto, grande John Pearson. John è morto nel 2021 e manca molto ai suoi amici e alla sua famiglia. La sua eredità continua e siamo onorati di celebrare il suo lavoro in questo giorno speciale.
Quest’anno il 5 vede la pubblicazione di una serie di titoli, che ogni fan di Bond dovrebbe possedere, e ogni libro offre qualcosa di piuttosto unico. Che tu abbia bisogno di un libro da tenere nella borsa da viaggio, di un libro per il tuo fondamentale volo in business class o anche di un libro con cui fermare un proiettile, abbiamo il volume che fa per te.
Innanzitutto, i nostri amici di Ian Fleming Publications stanno pubblicando nuove edizioni di Colonel Sun di Kingsley Amis, Zero Minus Ten di Raymond Benson e James Bond: The Authorized Biography di John Pearson, ognuna delle quali presenta una copertina fresca, audace e approvata dall’MI6.

Il 5 ottobre vede anche il culmine di un progetto che dura da anni. Ian Fleming: The Complete Man dell’eminente biografo Nicholas Shakespeare è finalmente declassificato e arriva oggi sugli scaffali delle librerie. Con l’accesso esclusivo agli archivi Fleming e una ricerca scrupolosa, Shakespeare getta nuova luce sulla vita di una leggenda.
Con probabilmente più dettagli di qualsiasi precedente retrospettiva su Fleming, è un libro su cui gli agenti nemici farebbero quasi qualsiasi cosa pur di mettere le mani. Fermali acquistando il tuo oggi.

October 5th is affectionately known as ‘James Bond Day’, marking, as it does, the date when the first 007 movie, Dr. No premiered back in 1962.
October 5th is also the birth date of the late, great John Pearson. John passed in 2021 and is much missed by his friends and family. His legacy continues and we are honoured to celebrate his work on this special day.
This year the 5th sees the publication of a number of titles, all of which any Bond fan should own, with each book offering something rather unique. Whether you need a book to fit in your go-bag, a book for your mission-crucial business class flight or even a book to stop a bullet with, we have the volume for you.
Firstly, our friends at Ian Fleming Publications are releasing brand new editions of Kingsley Amis’ Colonel Sun, Raymond Benson’s Zero Minus Ten and John Pearson’s James Bond: The Authorised Biography, each of which features a fresh, bold and MI6-approved cover. To celebrate these reissues, IFP sat down with Mark Pearson, the son of John Pearson and author of the new introduction included in his father’s book, to talk all things Bond. October 5th also sees the culmination of a project that has been years in the making. Fumettomania Factory – APS in short form
The Cultural Association Fumettomania Factory – APS, which has been operating nationwide since 1991, without ever forgetting the activities carried out in the territory of its operational headquarters, in Barcellona P.G. (Siciliy, Italy) – has as its purpose the promotion and enhancement of issues related to the language of comics.
The “mission” of Fumettomania is to attract children of all ages by promoting projects which talk about current and engaging topics. We have chosen to use comics, which contains in itself the code of literature (words) and traditional visual art (images), but also the mechanics of cinema (which is why it is also referred to as sequential art).
The commitment of the Association – 32 years after its foundation – is to spread the culture of Comics: we want to promote cultural and social projects with workshops aimed at young enthusiasts and schools, exhibitions and presentations dedicated to comics, illustration and similar, without forgetting meetings with authors!
RULES TO PARTICIPATE

Special Tribute with articles and drawings by the cultural Italian Association “Fumettomania Factory – APS”
Each artist can send us a single illustration, or can create a short comic of a maximum length of 4 pages, with the theme “James Bond, Ian Fleming, Agent 007, James Bond novels and films” and “ the 70th anniversary of James Bond”
All techniques are accepted: pencils, ink, watercolor, oil, acrylic, etc.
The format of your work must be A4 or A3.
Each participating artist within the dates indicated will be able to send an e-mail containing:
a) the illustration or comic story file in JPG format at 600 dpi
b) the dimensions of the work
c) the title of the picture or comics (and a caption)
d) the means or technique used in the work, to this email: info@fumettomaniafactory.net
The useful dates for delivering the works, paper and/or digital, are:
October 31, 2023 – First date
31 December 2023 – Second date
31 January 2024 – Third and last date
All the works, as they are delivered, will be published on this site.
This Special of Fumettomania will end on June 30, 2024.
If the adhesions will be numerous, as we hope, we will study the possibility of exhibiting the original works in an exhibition in our city that we will hold in 2024.
