All’interno della collettiva “Anthropocene Project” ci sarà, come avete già letto nell’articolo della settimana scorsa, una sezione internazionale chiamata “10 years to save the world” (un progetto dentro il progetto) in tutto 19 pannelli interamente in inglese di 10 artisti, 5 inglesi e 5 filippini.
Oggi conosciamo un secondo gruppo di opere realizzate da 4 artisti straordinari, sempre dal progetto “10 years to save the world“: Jack Teagle (UK), Sayra Begum (UK), Budjette Tan & Kajo Baldisimo (Philippines).
Un benvenuto ed un ringraziamento ai tre artisti e a: Rosanna Lewis (Creative Commissions Lead, British Council), a mr. Chris Dessent (Creative Concern, Manchester and for knowledge), a Julie Tait (Director of The Lakes International Comic Art Festival), che hanno accolto con entusiasmo l’interesse verso il loro progetto e la volontà di esporlo anche in Italia.

ULTIM’ORA: Segnatevi la data della prima mostra della Collettiva Anthropocene Project, che sarà dal 27 aprile al 29 maggio 2022 a Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto (Messina), nelle Sale espositive del “Seme d’Arancia”.
La pluripremiata copia inglese Mary e Bryan Talbot, torna in Italia dopo 9 anni, e saranno i due ospiti internazionali straordinari per presenziare a questo evento e per parlare del loro bellissimo romanzo a fumetti uscito in Italia nel 2020 per NPE ed ancora non promozionato a causa della pandemia da Covid-19. Insieme a loro ci saranno gli autori messinesi Lelio Bonaccorso, Michela De Domenico ed una delegazione della Scuola del Fumetto/Grafimated di Palermo.

BIOGRAFIA/BIOGRAPHY
Jack Teagle is an artist and illustrator from the South West of the UK.
He has had his work published by Nobrow, Retrofit Comics, McSweeney’s. Jack has built up little worlds, characters and narratives over the years, and is inspired by popular culture, magic and folklore to name a few things.

BIOGRAFIA/BIOGRAPHY
Sayra Begum released her first Graphic novel, Mongrel in August 2020, published by Knockabout comics and supported by Arts Council England.
Mongrel tells the story of a British Muslim woman who grew up in-between two cultures. She challenges conventions and looks beneath the surface to celebrate differences and reveal the common humanity.
Sayra’s style is influenced by Islamic miniatures and Surrealism. Her primary tools are her mechanical pencils. She is currently scripting her next graphic novel.
Sayra is a graduate of Falmouth University completing her Masters in Illustration: Authorial Practice in 2016. She’s currently training with the institute to become a lecturer, studying for a PGCHE, whilst tutoring on the MA Illustration course.
